A pillar of the Volunteer Lawyers Program Family Law Clinics, Ronda Lustman has
been a volunteer lawyer with us for more than a decade, providing her expertise in
domestic relations law, particularly in divorce, paternity, and custody cases.
When Ronda came to us as a volunteer, she had dozens of years of experience in
criminal law. However, she quickly changed directions to help us in one of our mostneeded
areas, domestic relations. She committed herself to learning this new area of
law and, since then, Ronda has hosted nearly 450 legal clinics and dedicated more
than 1,200 hours of service to vulnerable clients!
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ronda moved to New York for her
undergraduate studies and attended New York Law School. After law school, she
began her legal career as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn before joining the
New York City Department of Investigation. A brief stint in New Orleans saw her
working for a criminal defense firm but, ultimately, she and her husband returned to
New York, where she spent nearly 25 years at the New York State Attorney General’s
Office, primarily prosecuting white-collar crime.
Fortunately for us, after retiring from her impressive prosecutorial career, Ronda
and her husband relocated to Tucson, and quickly became involved with our
program. Ronda is not only a pillar of our family law clinics but is also a member of
the Volunteer Lawyers Program Advisory Committee, where her legal wisdom and
practicality provide valuable leadership.
Ronda is also a theatre afficionado and volunteers as the chair of the Rogue Theatre
Board of Directors, combining her passions for community involvement and the arts.
Ronda loves hiking to enjoy nature, yoga, and traveling, particularly to visit her children
and grandson in New York. She finds fulfillment in staying active, both professionally
and personally, making a crucial and lasting impact on our community.
