Paul Bowron, December 2024 Outstanding Volunteer of the Month

To this day, Paul Bowron practices law at his grandfather’s 1920s desk. A third-generation
lawyer, he grew up around the law — his mother was a paralegal and his father a lawyer —
and saw how fulfilling it could be despite the stress.

Paul hails from Casper, Wyoming, and later moved with his family to Nashville where
he attended high school. He often visited family in Tucson for Christmas and summers,
and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona before attending
the University of Wyoming College of Law, graduating not quite 10 years ago.

Paul returned to Tucson to practice law and joined the Law Office of Keith A. Singer.
He then co-founded a small law firm and later joined West-Watt Law, PLC, a position
he discovered through mutual volunteering efforts at SALA and the Pima County Bar
Association.

Throughout his career, Paul has maintained a strong focus on family law, a field he
finds both challenging and deeply personal. He takes pride in securing fair outcomes
for his clients, whether through settlement or litigation. One of the highlights of his
career was helping a nonbiological mother in a same-sex marriage secure parental
rights for the son she had parented for five years, despite the biological mother’s
attempt to cut her out completely.

His commitments extend beyond the courtroom. He has volunteered with our program
for years, even stepping in last minute to handle clinics when other lawyers were
unavailable. He also serves as a board member with the Pima County Bar Association
and volunteers at a local rock-climbing gym, where he helps children learn to climb. His
passion for helping others makes him a treasured member of our community.

An outdoor enthusiast, Paul enjoys rock climbing, including a climb to Mount
Kilimanjaro, the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.
After work, he looks forward to getting home to his dog and finds laughs in puns and a
cartoon from 1942 called “A Tale of Two Kitties.”
