A highly respected lawyer with deep roots in Tucson — his family has practiced law
here since 1928 — Michael Aboud was inspired by his father and uncle, who were
also lawyers. Michael decided to follow in their footsteps, attending the University
of Arizona for both his undergraduate and law degrees.
A partner at Aboud & Aboud, P.C., Michael’s legal expertise and dedication have earned him
widespread recognition within the community and beyond. This is just one of the reasons he
has been named our Lowell E. Rothschild Volunteer Lawyer of the Year.
Michael is passionate about ensuring the needs of his clients are met. His pro
bono work with us is a testament to this commitment. A stellar example of his
perseverance: In 2022, he took on a challenging real estate case, defending a lowincome
woman at risk of losing her home. After two years of litigation, Michael
successfully settled the case, preventing the family from losing both their home and
the equity they earned. His devotion to the case changed this family’s life.
Michael’s dedication to law, family, and community is reflected in everything he does,
both professionally and personally. He is an advocate for community service, regularly
encouraging others to give back through legal volunteerism.
One of Michael’s proudest accomplishments is raising two intelligent, loving daughters
with his wife of 55 years, all of whom, he adds, are wonderful mothers and role
models. He is quick to note how much he cherishes the time he spends with his family.
Michael enjoys laughing at old-school comedians like Buddy Hackett and Rodney
Dangerfield and, yet, he turns out to be a fan of many Lady Gaga songs, including
“Shallow” and “Always Remember Us This Way.”
Outside of his professional achievements, Michael loves being a father and
grandfather, and enjoys traveling with his family to Austria, where he is captivated
by the beauty of the country.
