Managing Attorney/Director of Intake

DESCRIPTION
SALA provides services to the poverty community of nine counties in southeastern Arizona
and serves eleven tribal communities. Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. is hiring a Managing Attorney/Director
of Intake to work in its Tucson Office. The Managing Attorney/Director of Intake will be responsible for
supervision and coordination of the day-to-day operations of intake services at the central office and the
development of new client intake procedures program-wide. Perform administrative duties as well as interview
clients, provide legal advice, counsel, brief services and referral of cases between units and offices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicants must have at least five years of legal experience and be a member of the Arizona bar;
eligible for admission to the Arizona Bar or pass the next bar exam; applicants licensed 2 years in
another jurisdiction may practice by special rule; experience in legal services helpful. Criminal
background check required.
2. Applicants must exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to the problems of the low-income community
and should be able to work with low-income and community groups.
3. Applicants should be knowledgeable in the area of general civil practice and specifically general
civil practice on behalf of the low-income community.
4. Bilingual English\Spanish helpful

COMPENSATION
Salary range $58,656.00 – $101,915.00 DOE plus Management Premium of $10,000;
up to five percent additional compensation to individuals fluent in Spanish. Payment of bar exam and admission
fees for those not yet admitted. Student loan repayment assistance. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
eligibility. Excellent benefits package including health insurance, disability insurance, and pension plan.
