Southern Arizona Legal Aid, (SALA), prioritizes services based upon the civil legal needs of the low-income populations in its service area. SALA's Board of Directors established guidelines for the needs assessment. After the Assessment was completed, it was reviewed by SALA's Board of Directors' Priorities Committee and approved by the full Board.
The Assessment was conducted with the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education (AFLS&E) and Arizona's other federally funded legal aid agencies. The assessment utilized client community surveys, surveys of the judiciary, legal community, and social services agency surveys. The AFLS&E compiled the results of the comprehensive civil legal needs assessment for Arizona in 2013.
