Employee Benefits' Package

Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. offers an exceptional Employee Benefits' Package which includes:

  1. Mandatory Bar Dues and Memberships:  SALA pays professional dues and membership fees for attorneys and tribal court advocates which are required to practice law by the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Supreme Court, Tribal Courts, or Tribal Bar Associations or relevant federal courts.
  2. Malpractice insurance for attorneys, tribal court advocates and paralegals.
  3. Parking or bus pass each month (when necessary and not included in office space lease).
  4. Sick Leave - one (1) day of paid sick leave each month for an annual total of twelve (12) days (up to five (5) days of sick leave can be converted to annual leave each year once all annual leave is depleted).
  5. Annual Leave
    • An employee accrues annual leave at the rate of one (1) day for each full month of service, i.e., a total of twelve (12) days per year, for the first two (2) years of employment.
    • An employee accrues annual leave at the rate of one and one-fourth (1-1/4) days for each full month of service, i.e. a total of fifteen (15) work days per year beginning the third year of employment.
    • An employee accrues annual leave at the rate of one and one-half (1-½) days for each full month of service, i.e., a total of (18) work days per year beginning the sixth year of employment.
    • An employee will accrue annual leave at the rate of two (2) days for each full month of service, i.e., a total of twenty-four (24) work days per year beginning the fourteenth year of employment.
  6. $25,000 term life insurance.
  7. Health insurance and Dental coverage available.
    • Health Net Insurance - SALA provides a health subsidy for the employee at the single premium rate; subsidy available for dependent coverage for single, wage-earner families.
    • SALA currently has three dental plans available for the employee to chose from; premium is 100% paid by employee.
  8. Long and Short Term Disability Insurance.
  9. Automatic deposit on payroll available.
  10. Credit union membership available (Pima Federal Credit Union or First Federal Credit Union - Statewide).

  13. Student Loan Repayment Program for attorneys with law school debt.
